• Usually, cream are applied twice a day, and the treatment should continue for at least 7-10 days after the rash completely disappears. 

• If you stopped using the cream too soon, the infection may not be eradicated completely, and the rash will return. 

• It may take several days for the anti-fungal cream to take effect. 

• In the meantime, one can use hydrocortisone cream to help relieve itching and pain.

The active ingredients in anti-fungal medications include:

Miconazole (Brand Names: MICATIN®,  DESENEX® powder/liquid spray, LOTRIMIN® powder/liquid spray)
	For ringworm and jock itch Powders are generally not as good as cream for treating fungal infections.
Clotrimazole   (Brand Names: Lotrimin AF® cream, TINACTIN® powder spray)
	For athlete's foot
Terbinafine (Brand Name: LAMISIL AT®)
	For athlete's foot and jock itch
